Helmut is a conservator in private practice. (see Curriculum Vitae)
He has been restoring works of art since 1981. He has restored works by Singer Sargent, Winslow Homer, Child Hassam, George Innes, Willard Leroy Metcalf, Robert Motherwell, Will Barnet, Henry Moore, Norman Rockwell, Thomas Hart Benton, John Dobbs, Lilian Cheviot, as well as many other European and lesser-known works of art.
He has had the privilege to restore works of art for institutions such as Manhattan College (past presidents, twenty paintings), works of art for Fordham University, The Salmagundi Club, The Century Association, and the Scarsdale’s Library collection of thirty Anna Richard Brewster paintings.
